APPLICATION INVITED FOR SCIENTIST GROUP IV POSITIONS

Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB) a premier Institute of Council of
Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India, is engaged in five broad areas of research
activity (i) Genomics and Molecular Medicine, (ii) Genome Informatics and Systems Biology,
(iii) Chemical and Synthetic Biology (iv) Respiratory Disease Biology (v) Energy and
Environment Biotechnology.
Ten researchers in
any of the following areas.
a) Genome Informatics and Systems biology: Applicant(s) should have background in
high performance computing in biological systems and Systems biology. Experience
in numerical analysis/programming is a necessary qualification in this area. Experience
in statistical analysis would be preferred
b) Molecular and Cellular Biology: Applicant(s) in the area should have demonstrated
experience in cellular organization and organelle biology and should be inclined to
pursue research projects to understand fundamental aspects of cellular organization and
organelle biology and linking these studies to human diseases using molecular tools.
c) Chemical and Synthetic Biology: Applicant(s) should have experience in metabolic
engineering applying genome biology knowledge of industrially significant microbes
through synthetic biology to re-design biological pathways with useful traits,
understand fundamental questions and applications towards production of bioactive
molecules or bio-fuels.
